I loved this paddle. It is nice and quiet while your paddle and just glides through the water. You get the best of both worlds with the carbon shaft and wooden blades. The blades are also reinforced with fiberglass to make them really durable. Appearance really doesn't matter, but the stained wood makes it a cool looking. Great paddle!
